Everyone deserves the chance to play, and we hope to make soccer accessible—one kick at a time.
Who we are
Welcome to The CenterBack Project!
My name is Sadie Glassgold. I'm a student at The Nightingale Bamford School in New York City, where I play Varsity Soccer in addition to my travel team, Manhattan Soccer Club. I started The Centerback Project as a way to combine my desire to help the local community and my passion for soccer. My experience has taught me that soccer has the power to bring people together, build confidence, and inspire teamwork. I want to share that opportunity with as many other children as possible.
Through CenterBack, my goal is to create free soccer clinics where children of all backgrounds can learn new skills, make friends, and enjoy the sport in a fun and supportive environment. By removing the financial barrier to play, I hope to give every child the opportunity to experience the joy, discipline, and connection that soccer can bring.
To make this vision possible, we are looking to partner with local soccer clubs and organizations from around the city to help sponsor clinics, donate equipment, and provide coaching support. Collaborating with local schools, sports clubs, and private coaches will allow us the opportunity to connect children with experienced players and coaches, and build a strong network of volunteers dedicated to giving back through the game.
The CenterBack Project hopes to grow into a citywide initiative that not only offers free clinics but also provides leadership opportunities and community events that promote inclusivity, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle. Everyone deserves the chance to play, and we hope to make soccer accessible—one kick at a time.
